IRMM employs about 350 staff of which 220 are Commission officials and the
others are visiting scientists, PhD or post-doctoral fellows, or hold a
temporary contract. About 30% of personnel is women.
The institute is funded by the JRC budget from the Commission’s Framework
Programmes. About 10% of the institute budget is competitive income from the
sales of reference materials, from participating in projects of the European
Commission Framework Programmes or work performed for customers mainly from
other Directorates-General.
